Titans roll on Knights in last matchup of the season

COLMAR, PA - North Penn and Central Bucks South faced off last night for the second and final time this season. The Knights had lost the first game by a score of 6-1 in the annual Thanksgiving Eve "County Line Cup" showcase. The generalized thought was that the Knights would be looking for redemption, but redemption was not on the menu. The Titans came out with an aggressive forecheck and set a tempo the Knights couldn't match. CB South got on the board four and a half minutes in, and after eight NP turnovers the Titans finally capitalized. Aidan Linso skated in from the neutral zone after an unforced turnover, Linso skated around three Knights defenders untouched before depositing the puck on a backhander behind the Knights goalie. Just over a minute later the Titans scored again, this time shorthanded, after another unforced turnover in the Knights offensive zone sprung a CB South two on one breakaway, Aydin Thierolf picked up the loose clearing pass and skated in unimpeded tucking the puck in on his forehand to put the Titans up 2-0. Unrelenting, the Titans scored again with 6:35 remaining on another Knights unforced offensive zone turnover creating a three on two breakaway. With nobody backchecking the Titans third forward, Aydin Theirolf, was left all alone to pick up the fourth and final rebound as he easily pushed the puck in to put CB South up by a commanding three goal lead. Off of the ensuing draw North Penn's Matt Yothers and Cole Pluck skated in on a two on one. Yothers drew the lone CBS defenseman over and shuttled the puck to Pluck who went glove side high on South goalie Dominic Varacallo scoring on the Knights third shot of the game. Shorthand fever struck again at 2:08 when the Knights turned it over again, unforced, in their offensive zone creating another two on one breakaway opportunity, Jimmy Boyle was left alone to fend for himself with nobody back checking and Colin Mendham made no mistake ripping the puck top shelf to put the Titans ahead 4-1 and it would stay that way through the end of the first. The Knights were outshot 20-4 and gave the puck away twenty-six times in the first frame.

Unfortunately for the Knights, the evening didn't get any better. The Titans scored another six goals to the Knights one. The Knights turnovers were their kryptonite with another twenty-one in the second period, and thirty-six more in the third. The Knights managed only four more shots through the second period and sixteen total at the conclusion of the game. The final score was 10-2 in favor of Central Bucks South who also outshot the Knights 57-16.
