So many parents decide that their player needs to play on a winning team or at a higher level.  They will jump from rink to rink looking for what they deem what is going to get their player noticed.  The best players at one time didn’t always play on a winning team every year.  It’s funny how many think this, and begin to compare their player to others and will let everyone know.  How about let your player work hard and earn a spot or be a leader on a team that may not win it all.  Parents need to teach respect, sportsmanship and how to handle disappointment.  But it is the time of year where some players will not make a top team but some parents will chase to find an organization that will put their player at a higher level.  Enjoy your player and encourage growth, not the need to just win!

Yes, I am sure no one leaves for a better experience, better organization, better coaching, a better rink or better families.  Clearly everyone made the right choice with the initial organization they picked for their child and should never switch.  Everyone just moves to win and get there kid on a higher team so they can tell their friends about it- according to this message board those are the only two reasons people switch.

In my lifetime I haven't met another person who plays higher level sports because they are fine with losing. Everybody has a competitive nature and wants to win and losing consistently no mater who your playing with friends or not isn't fun. It's no different in LAX and baseball my sons friends are constantly moving around because they want to win and ask their parents to move.

Hilarious! Higher level sports?!?  More like house league level hockey....  Just stop. There’s nothing wrong with boys simply playing hockey for fun and fitness. There are only a very few true Tier 1 programs in the area and they produce a mere handful of higher level hockey players. Stop worrying about getting your kid to juniors, D1, etc. and just let them have fun.

I didn't say tier1 I said higher level as in higher than house or light travel league. Yes that is higher level whether you like it or not and kids do want to win it's not a figment of my imagination watching them all move around to better teams who win. Not the major leagues like you assume.

So where exactly are you going with these pedestrian comments?  Circles....  So what if parents are stupid enough to chase winning teams or pony up $8k so a house league level player gets to be on a  “AAA” team?  People are morons and too often don’t put their kid’s interest first....

Why is the assumption that every parent who wants to move their kid, for the purposes of being on a better team or whatever reason they desire, is looking to get their kid on a AAA team?  If these are families moving from one tier 2 team to another, AAA isn't even an option.

Definition of “or” — used as a function word to indicate an alternative....

“So what if parents are stupid enough to chase winning teams OR pony up $8k so a house league level player gets to be on a  “AAA” team?”

It helps to actually read, but keep trying...

Your response was to what I wrote about my son's friends who play LAX and Baseball who all play tier 2 hockey. None of them will be going to play AAA because they play hockey for fun and want to win. Their main sports aren't hockey. If you feel that your response about AAA goes with this fine but you are not right.
