I find it funny how people brag that their kids made PWQ team. There are a multiple top players that do not even try out for PWQ- boys and girls. This also goes for Brick and Rose teams. The SJ/SEPA & Team PA teams selected for these tournaments rarely, if ever, do well. The reason is teams are picked before tryouts even happen. Solution: have serious, open tryouts that actually wind up taking the best team and not just JRF & PHC favorites.

Well those that do not make Hershey team can join the AHF pw Quebec team.  I am sure if you just show up for AHF team you will make since you are playing the lowest level of Canadian teams.  Anyone that takes the bait likes to throw money around like it’s nothing.

You have to play in the AHF to make that team. And they are known for saying "we aren't taking the best players, we are building a team. It's a shit show like the others

Another moron that doesn't know what they are talking about...there's four levels of PWQ - AHF plays at AA which is level 3, there's a lower level called BB

Flyers/Devils = AAA Elite
HJB = AAA
AHF = AA
BB = Mostly Canadian teams, but there are a couple US and international teams

I'm not saying its right, but many of those players don't elect to try out due to the cost.  The District and AHF teams are $3500+ just for your kid to play.  Once you add in family hotel, travel, food, etc... its easily $8 grand or more to play in PWQ.  It sucks for many that can't afford it, but PWQ is incredibly expensive.

Many of the better players opt out of this money grab that’s for sure.  I mean the experience is great.  These pre picked teams fees to play also deter kids from doing it.  But it does seem like that the AHF team is the generic brand for peewee Quebec.

AHF plays in the lowest division. Top players won't play for a B team. Even though AHF did very well last year, their players are A/B level kids. PWQ is so expensive it locks kids out. You would think the AAHA could have funds to help their teams out, but fundraising is put on the parents. Hockey is just way too expensive and a lot of talented kids are leaving the sport due to cost, not burnout. It only gets more expensive the older you get! Very sad. This is why the US is the best in the world at basketball. You only need a ball and hoop to get better. Ice hockey will leave tons of kids behind due to cost!

If you're going to call someone else a moron for not knowing something, maybe you should know what you're talking about first.

There are 4 levels at PWQ.

AAA
AA Elite
AA
BB

And they also have a girls division

No one cares how many levels there are. It is too expensive and cuts out way too many families. It costs over $8k when factoring in parents having to stay in Quebec. It is a ripoff and some of the best players can't afford to go. Same as Brick and Rose Series tournaments. Team PA did ok at Brick this year, but Team PA girls are dead last at War of Roses. This years Flyers PWQ teams should at least get to playoff round but won't get past quarters. If all the 2013 district talent could afford these tournaments, teams would place higher. Sad reflection on what ice hockey has become in the AAHA District!

Flyers and Devils both started to offer scholarship applications for those in need. ( new this year) seems like they are actually trying to start helping kids. Also just because your kid didn't make a quebec team doesn't mean they are bad players. Also doesn't mean you should hop right on social media to bad mouth and complain.
