Sounds like a AAA issue....

Tier 2 needs parent coaches to keep costs "reasonable".

This is false on so many levels. Any Tier 2 club worth anything has non parent coaching especially at the AA levels

I literally can't think of one team in the AHF AA that has non parent coaches.

Coaches will be put out early by every rink this year. Last year is was late January. Too many unhappy parents at all rinks. Spoke with multiple friends at PHC, JrF, LF, FE, Mercer, Rev, Minutemen and 4 Tier 2 Clubs. Everyone said they are unhappy with the product they are getting. No one complained about game playing time, they complained about quality of practices and how much money they are being charged. Tuition keeps going up but the coaching is getting worse was the most common refrain. More parents this year expressed interest in having their kids try other sports. I think we will see a lot of movement this year, but parents will find the grass is not always greener. I am more worried about what tuition will be next season. BB will raise rates again and every other rink will follow. It will be interesting to see how high BB goes.

So let me get this straight. You connect families from 12-14 clubs in the region and based off those discussions determined many coaching changes will be made and players will be changing clubs. Then hurried here to alert the hockey world? You definitely need a hobby.

you know all the coaches on all the AA teams in the AHF? LVPY have multiple teams A and AA with non parent coaches. VFC did as well. They have had non parent coaches for years.

Daddy puck will still exist, regardless, they will bend the ear of who. ales the team selections. They will volunteer on the board, they will do whatever it takes to get their kid on the higher letter.  Wish this would solve the issue but their are always lazy directors and coaches who don’t care who they coach and will let the smoocher pick for the .

Genesis has non parent coaches at 18AA, 16AA, 15AA, 14AA, 13AA, 12AA. 11AA is a parent but one who coached high school forever. Also non parent at 18A, both 16A levels. There are others but you get the idea

The biggest issue is mentoring new coaches daddy or paid.  Every rink has the same issue.  There are not enough quality coaches and the ones that are good are never good enough for everyone so there is never a situation where every parent is happy and let's be real it's the parents.  Hockey is an expensive sport to play and most parents feel that they should have a say whether it is deserved or not so no matter how good a coach is there is always someone aka parent who is always unhappy.  Also, coaches need to start somewhere.  Almost never is a coach great from their first year our so rinks should bring in former players or coaches hopefully to their own org so they have some good PR, let them learn for a few years as assistants or like substitute teachers filling in where needed, make sure they're teaching the fundamentals and most importantly that they have good heads on their shoulders.  Pay them a decent aka fair wage or salary with the opportunity to make up the difference (in being a head coach vs. an assistant) with private lessons, and then after those few years if they can handle it make them a head coach.  Give them 3 years and see where it goes.

That is not true at all.  Go to their website and you will see all of the AA teams have daddy coaches on their staff except one team.  That whole club is run by the same families and there are many unhappy folks there.  I know of quite a few families that are planning on leaving this club from multiple age groups.
