Stop it. My kid plays for PHC and I can tell you from experience nobody at the rink operates the way you described. We get a ton of ice and the coaches are good. The teams win because the rink has a great offering at mite, player development does matter. The program has existed for only 7 seasons btw.
Here is what was said about PHC:
"He will not fit in with the cray parents and win at all costs mentality of PHC"
"I think it is sad that I am writing about young kids not living up to expectations, but that is what you get if you go play for PHC. Development and loyalty are not concepts PHC embrace. Results are what matters. PHC will not hesitate to cut a player who has been loyal to the program. It is all about wining and that is not what youth hockey should be about, even at AAA"
Where in the above does it say PHC does not get ice time or the coaches are bad? Development does matter, but PHC rarely promotes players from Hurricanes that are good enough to make PHC. Every year PHC recruits players from other rinks, rather than promote from Hurricanes. Let's talk about your mite program. You are really talking about Venom which is not the program it used to be when team was at Pennsauken. Before they left Pennsauken they had a monopoly on full ice mite kids from the area. That is not the case now and they are just an ok program. Look at the team turnover:
2015: 5 players gone from last year (Venom), 5 new players
2014- 2 players gone from last year, 3 new players
2013- 3 players gone from last year, 4 new players
2012- 7 players gone from last year, 6 new players
2011- 10 players gone from last year, 10 new players
As the kids get older the turnover picks up. Not because people don't want to stay, but because PHC/TB wants higher rankings. How is that working out for them this year?
14U 41st nationally
13U 93rd
12U 38th
11U 10th
10U 26th
9U 15th
11U is the only team living up to the standards of PHC. 9U team thought they would be top 5 nationally with one assistant coach saying they have the "best 2015 player in the country". Way to put pressure on a 9 year old! The culture at PHC is terrible and once parents are in it for a few years, a lot of them realize it is toxic and leave. Some will just keep drinking the kool-aid of PHC, but to their own detriment.
Full disclosure: I am a parent of a former PHC player. My kid is playing for another AAA team and has improved way more this year that he did over his time at Hollydell!
This guy who is supposedly leaving for PHC next year will not be happy!
