You don't have the expertise to fix the problem. But you have the expertise to say there is a problem.

Is there a problem with NFL officiating? Many, many people say yes. Does the NFL have all money in the world? doesn't seem to help. Is there a problem with the referees in the EPL? Do they look at offsides down to the width of someone arm? Yes - do people this it works - not many.

To the other poster, if you think that officiating is different in other places you truly have no clue.
Go take a look at the D-board and see all the posts on officials.

Yes, yes, attack the poster when you have no answers - keep up the good work!

Someone posting here may or may not have expertise to fix a problem, but it is clear that the atlantic district/usa hockey certainly do not have any idea how to even approach the problem, or even admit there is a problem.  who wants problems?

"I hereby declare that a parent who yells at referees will be hereby removed and fined, and their kid suspended" - yup, that's the problem and how to fix it.  retain those refs, no matter how poorly they execute their job.

reminds me of the squirt jamboree - how scientifically ineffective!

Where can parents actually provide legitimate concerns about refs - and how do those "in charge" use that information to evaluate.  Why not make summaries of ref evaluations, good or bad, and complaints public record?  not only would that help give refs incentive to do a better job, (because honestly, do most (not all, most) of them care about much more than the cash they get?), but wow it would even show these evil parents that you despise so much that there is something going on other than a dues collection and distribution racket.  Wow, maybe I do have some expertise after all.

You seem to be missing the point. All officiating everywhere is flawed. Every professional sport and every youth sport seems to have the same problem. Tell me one where they have it figured out. Tell me what youths sport organizing body has solved the problem. Which governing body has figured out how to get 5,000 - 10,000 part time employees on the same page?

There are 34 NHL referees. People complain about what they do every day.
Why in the world can the NHL not fix it?

Who have you contacted with your legitimate concerns?
The information of every assignor and RIC of leagues, District and nationally is public knowledge.
Who have you contacted and what was the response?

The point of forums is to have open dialogue on a topic/subject matter found interesting by subscribers (or guests in this case).  Legitimate topics or concerns should not be smeared because someone gets their feelings hurt, but discussed openly from multiple points of view.  Some posters must be the offspring of a lawnmower parent and have never really figured out how to constructively deal with conflict.

If you hate the officials that much why don't you move your kid to another league? All you will find is the same thing and you will still complain about it. Or just don't let you kid play anymore. Problem solved.

Ah, I get it now.

The problems exists everywhere, and it they exist everywhere, then they must be unsolvable here.

With that mentality and approach to life, we would still be sitting in caves and the world would still be flat.  Then again, maybe that would not be so bad.

Human endeavors are always by nature Human and therefore flawed.  But, there are ways to mitigate.  There is no evidence of any attempt to mitigate anything when we discuss the very important topic of refereeing in youth hockey sports in NJ and PA.

Yet, the earth still rolls around the sun, and hockey parents everywhere still pay their USA hockey dues with still get distributed to used-up hockey veterans, whose only response to questions is.... "well what have YOU tried to do about it"!

I still haven't actually seen why someone would claim that "THE DVHL HAS THE WORST OFFICIATING IN USA HOCKEY PERIOD!  JUST SAYING".  How are they the worst?  Are they determining the outcome of games?  Is it some refs or all refs, and what level?  Depending on playing age you could have a Level 1 ref who is 12 or 13, is that who is the worst?  Or are you talking a Level 3 ref doing a 18U AA game?

Well ya see, Little Johnny got tripped and fell down. And it was from behind and the other player was trying to kill Little Johnny. And then Little Johnnys coach started screaming at the ref cause Little Johnny was down. And all the parents were screaming cause Little Johnny was down. And Little Johnny couldn't even get up. So mom had to run down and bang on the glass and yell at the official cause Little Johnny couldn't even skate anymore. And the coach had to come and help Little Johnny off the ice... cause his skate blade was broken.

Ya see the fact was Little Johnny wasn't even touched on the play. Skate blade broke and he fell on his own. Coach apologizes to referee. The parents did not.
