Adults talking smack online about 7-10 year olds playing hockey…I guess they need to justify all that money they paid to be “AAA” somehow.

How do you figure? You get a lot more bang for your buck at AAA.

The guy who’s talking smack about the Pirates and the venom and all these teams and beaten up on our kids shit should reveal himself so next time I see him I could smack him i can take him outside we’re adults talk. And see how much shit comes out his mouth.  He must have got picked on and abused and never played real hockey. Cause I did and what he shit u say u should be embarrassed. U have any balls put the game together with pilots and venom and run your mouth there.

Parents who pay tier 1 money for mites and squirts are nuts. Thats what this thread tells me. Coaches being paid to coach them are stealing money kudos to them.

Be careful, you're going to get responses saying you're just jealous because your kid isn't good enough to play T1. That seems to be the norm around here.

BTW, fun fact. My son played T2. Half the years were at AA, but he also played A and oh my god, B. He's now playing club hockey in college with kids who played their whole careers at T1. There are even a few kids who played through Juniors and are now 21 year old freshman. My guess is that the difference in money these people paid for T1 compared to what I paid for T2 is probably equivalent to 2 years of tuition at this school. And yet they are all on the same team.

With what some t2’s are charging now, there isn’t much of a difference. You get a lot practices, games, summer camp, office and some equipment.

Squirt AA- 45-50 games, 2 practices a week = $2400
Uniforms- $300
Travel- minimal- maybe 1 overnight- $400
Summer Camp- $400
AA Total= $3500

Squirt AAA- 50-60 games, 3 practices a week & summer camp= $4250
Additional costs- 4 travel weekends   to NY, CT, Hershey, Boston- 8 nights= $4000
Equipment Package-$650-$1100 depending on what coach wants you to buy
AAA Total= $8900-$9350
AAA seems a lot more expensive

Who cares? If parents want to spend money on AAA let them. My kid will play AA or A and we will all meet again at Bantam to see who is good and who is not. That is the age it evens out anyway. I will chose a great coach and clinics over all the games any day.  AAA below Bantam is a choice and if parents can afford ok. The only regret I have is I can't afford it and my kid won't play with some friends. Remember it is about the kids, not the parents!

Most of those numbers aren’t accurate. I get your an advocate for tier 2…Sharpen your pencil and break down the price per ice-slot. AAA usually comes with 100 practices.

And if traveling is an issue, don’t play travel sports. Those estimate are also wrong
