Palmyra 04 now sandbagging
Topic: April 23, 2018, 08:40:35 AM
Is this the same site as the njyouthhockey website? I found this site looking for that blog that is posted on the DVHL website on facebook. Looks different but fine.

Getting back to this the story is Palmyra got tier 1 status to play AAA this season as an independent but once they saw the teams they'd have to play and understood they couldn't play for national district title they backed out going AA in tier 2 for 18-19 season. Thier 03 team did the same thing last season and won out just about every game they played.

Thanks for this I was wondering where the blog went. I checked it on Sunday and was gone. This has to be either a new site or the same site with a different name I wonder if the league had something to do with it not being online anymore? Getting back to the last note I wrote, this isn't about wins or losses. Yes they matter because our kids don't want to play a game where whtever the outcome is is meaningless they want to win. And we pay good money for them to have an opportunity to play for a team that has a chance. When teams sandbag they're not doing anything for any self respecting league. All they care about is loading up and playing down so they can walk away with a trophy. The kids on their end are the ones losing out. They learn nothing personally or talent wise by beating the crap out of lesser opponents. Pretty sad the parents know what they're doing but still put their kids in that position anyway.

If anybody thinks for a second this isn't what kids hockey has come to, they'd be wrong. All of the teams are competing for the same players, doesn't matter if it's tier 1 or tier ll. No club cares what anybody else thinks, they're in it for the money and the distinguished honor of owning titles. Isn't this what everybody's after anyway? SMH

Read their site news it says it right there if you scroll down. They were granted tier one status and their site says all of their teams will be playing tier ll in it's latest news release at the top. Horecheck scouted the other teams and sees he's got no chance at a title. He went backwards because he knows his 04 team won't compete with actual AAA teams http://palmyrablackknights.org/News.asp?org=PALMYRABLACKKNIGHTS.ORG#396992

My son's AAA team played their 03 team last year that was not an AA team and this seasons new team won't be either. They steam rolled my sons team twice I think there should be an advisory board who determines where what teams play when it comes to something like this. They should definitely have to play up with the big boys as that team from last year was good but it wouldn't have beaten the better of the AAA teams in the AYHL. Probably why this years team is staying tier ll.

I'm tired of this crap. We pay a lot of money for our kid to play on a team that doesn't have the ability to scout and recruit other players from other teams that are close. The team is good, not great but they compete. Going in knowing they have no opportunity to play for anything is disheartening. He's happy because he plays with his pals but this is getting old.

Based on a number of inquiries regarding Tier II evaluations, Palmyra Black Knights want to clarify that all Tier II teams will be participating in the DVHL.  Based on talent level, some teams may also supplement their DVHL schedule with a USPHL or EJEPL schedule.

Palmyra Black Knights announce the launch of a Tier 1 ice hockey program for the 2018/19 season.

Annville, PA – The Palmyra Black Knights (PBK) youth ice hockey program under the direction of Antoine Bergeron, hockey director for PBK and Klick Lewis Arena (KLA), is excited to announce the launch of a Tier 1 ice hockey program starting in the 2018/19 season.

PBK thanks the leadership of the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) which governs youth hockey in the Atlantic Affiliate of USA Hockey for their support of our expanding program in south central Pennsylvania.

This added program will supplement an already successful youth hockey portfolio that is grounded in the USA Hockey American Development (ADM) model, which emphasizes hockey skill building and long-term athletic development.

PBK will now be able to deliver a full hockey program that covers all ages and skill levels of youth hockey under one roof – from “Learn to Skate” through 18U… and beyond.  A formal dryland training curriculum with Explosive Sports Performance will be added next season to complement PBK’s on-ice program which includes dedicated skill development, powerskating, and goalie instruction.

“It’s important we don’t deviate from our sweet spot of delivering a top notch Tier 2 AA/A/B and house/development product in our region.  These levels will continue to support the largest population of our players and it’s important they continue to receive the high-quality instruction and coaching they are used to at PBK.  Offering Tier 1 hockey is a logical next step in continuing to develop our program by offering all of the products our players could need,” stated Bergeron.

More details regarding tryouts, leagues, coaches, and levels offered for the entire PBK program (including House/Development, Girls, Tier 2 AA/A/B, and Tier 1) will be available at the PBK website as the products are finalized in the upcoming weeks.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Antoine Bergeron (717-727-3455 or [email protected]).

That is crazy! Somebody was saying on the original post before it went down there were 5 Jr Flyers players who left to go there and made the team. So the parents take them out to go play for the front runner in tier 1 only to find out they're back playing tier 2 BWAAAAH HA HA HA HA IDIOTS! On top of that they have to drive 2 hours for practices.

This isn't any different than Hollydell. They pulled a similar stunt and AAA kids wound up with nowhere to play.
