Sponsorship money to get one’s way
Topic: October 24, 2020, 11:36:49 PM
Hearing of one parent in Palmyra who pours sponsorship dollars in to get his way.  Has already wrecked hockey elsewhere and has worn out welcome in two rinks.  Be careful!

Are you even a real hockey parent if you haven't worn out your welcome somewhere?

How do you wreck hockey?

Welcome to youth hockey. No different than any other politics anywhere else, just brown nose the right people and make them feel like they're important and relevant.

Little Flyers 16U parent does the same thing.  Did it for 2 years at Junior Flyers and now at Little Flyers.  Pay to play for your kid.  At least daddy can say he plays AAA.

It's all pay to play. There are kids and potentially talented kids who can't play or play at certain levels due to high cost to play. The pay part always is going to limit talent pool and competition at every level.

I thought we weren't doing rumor mongering on this site? Or only non-covid rumors are allowed?

LOL. Maybe using bribery or giving “donations” to kiss ass at a reputable or winning organization is one thing but to do it at one that’s average is pretty stupid. Oh wait, he believes he’ll get a scholarship or professional contract by playing at Palmyra.
