I know who GG is, but what has JB done to make everyone say that he is a liar?

good question id like to know too, he seemed to greatly improve the 2011 phc team as soon as he took over

Everyone has opinions on coaches. GG was a great coach and still is great at teaching skating. The mites at Pennsauken loved him. Sometimes the time comes for coaches to step back and I think GG understands at this stage in life, he is best running camps and power skating clinics. I also think he just does not have the enthusiasm for anything more. This does not diminish his accomplishments despite people from Hollydell bashing him.

JB, while not as old, is in the same boat as GG. He took a step back to just coach 2011 PHC. Does this diminish his accomplishments? No. He is also a great coach.

There comes a time where every player needs to move on from a coach and get a different method/perspective. It does not mean the coach is bad. Also JB and GG were not for everyone. Parents need to find a coach that clicks with their child and stick with the coach until it is time to move on. Also, even though a parent may think their child is AAA or AA, maybe the coach is looking for something else to round our their team. Maybe the parent is wrong on the talent level of their child (this never happens). Either way parents need to chill out and let the coaches coach. Remember sports are for the kids, not parents! If the kid is having fun at AAA great. If they have fun at AA/A great. Most times kids just want to play with their friends and have fun, no matter what level of competition.

We all just need to let the kids be kids and end this stupid argument now!

I think a lot of the dislike for JB came when FE 2011 and Venom 2012 NEHL moved to Hollydell. JB often played the silent witness while JD played the heavy, often lying or misleading parents at Hollydell and Pennsauken about what was going to happen and the role their kids were going to play if at all. The move alienated a lot of people at Hollydell and decimated the FE program. Personally not a fan of either of them and have been on the receiving end of some of JD lies and disrespect. While not many can argue with the success they’ve had at PHC it has come at a cost of a lot of goodwill from non PHC parents and kids.

Maybe some of the kids parents of the kids that followed him to Pennsauken and Hollydell can chime in on how they spent years with him, played back a year, and then got cut. It’s been happening every year. I’m sure it happened this year. And I’m sure it will happen next year.

Anyone hear Gretzky today talking about a 11 yr old

Gretzky's dad is a genius! Game flow and creativity are everything today. Look at the NHL, very few stay at home d anymore. Every player has to play 200 feet. It is the same in College. Playing system/positional hockey 100% of the time is not good for development. Think about what Gretzky said when looking for you kids coach.

Skating, skating, skating. Then more skating. And when your kid is one of the best skaters at the rink, then give her or him a stick. You can't be creative or have flow if you are not in complete control of your feet, every edge, every direction.

Could you imagine a team of kids who only started hockey after taking skating lessons for 1 or 2 years, on the ice 8-10 hours a week?

Agree about skating. This is what power skating clinics are for. But not all  power skating clinics are equal. Find the clinic where you kid is exhausted coming off the ice. My kid did power skating with Guy at Pennsauken last year and his speed, edge work and backwards skating are off the charts.  Now he plays AAA in PA and could not have accomplished this without power skating. Kids can improve very fast if put with great coaches and disciplined environment. Kids also have more fun if they see themselves improving. Some knock Guy for being too old school, but man he teach kids how to skate! He is maybe the best skating instructor around. He will be missed if he retires!

Who f-ing cares? Unless it's your kid, mind your own damn business. What sick person stalks websites to troll and criticize kids they don't know?
