Word is that Dave renewed the BCI lease for 5 years. The guy that owns BCI also runs the curling club. I've heard they do very well. With Wintersport and Old York Road gone, Wildcats and Ice Dogs merged, and new owners at Rev there is a big opportunity for Rev to get back into the DVHL and dominate this part of Bucks/Montgo County for hockey.

just shuffling club names at the same rinks.  Royals were non-existent at WS until OYR ended.

Hatfield:  Ice Dogs ---> Genesis
Warwick:  Wildcats ---> Revolution
BCI:  Glaciers ---> Royals

Same options available that have been for most of last decade.

just shuffling club names at the same rinks.  Royals were non-existent at WS until OYR ended. When OYR ended, everybody went to Revolution, Blazers and Wissahickon.

Hatfield:  Ice Dogs ---> Genesis
Warwick:  Wildcats ---> Almost all went to Hatfield. Wildcats 07AA went to Revolution elite and Wildcats 12U A went to Royals. A few others went to Royals, Senators, Revolution. Not many

BCI:  Glaciers ---> Mostly all went to Wildcats when Glaciers and Thunder ended.

Royals: A lower priced option which is where everybody else ended up with nowhere to go.

Same options available that have been for most of last decade.

2 rinks within 5 miles of each other are going to be gone, eliminating the availability for people living down that end. Would imagine the players will wind up at BCI if Sheerr moves the Royals there, or they'll go to Wissahickon.

You must be very young. The Royals were one of the the area's first youth hockey programs starting in the early 70's. The original Grundy Rink (burned down), Wissahickon, and Old York Road were pioneers in this area. OYR and WSC and even George Washington C.C. were very exclusive with family club membership dues that mimicked high-end country club fees. Grundy, Ice Palace on Roosevelt Blvd, Radnor Rink, Lafayette, Valley Forge Sports Complex and others that are long gone built the foundation of youth hockey in this area. Note: The ROYALS were around much longer than any of the clubs you mention.

The Royals were defunct for at least 10 years before Dave Sheer brought the program back 3 years ago.
