Special Treatment
Topic: September 08, 2021, 02:05:29 PM
Why is it that certain teams in the NJYHL are allowed to still have 0 or 1 game played so far when others have 7 or 8?? isnt an unfair advantage to allow teams extra weeks of practice/tournaments to prepare when others started in early August?  Amazing what some clubs get away with.

I don't understand how what you laid out would be considered special treatment?

Just read through the rules(link bellow) and they state nothing about when league play can start. They only state when the latest league play is allowed to start by: 9/1(16U & 18U), 10/1(12U & 14U), 10/15(10U), and 11/1(8U), which implies that it probably should be started earlier.

New Jersey Youth Hockey League – New Jersey Youth Hockey League

Other leagues like the EJEPL have late August showcases that mark the beginning of the season.

What you are laying out sounds like an organizational/scheduling issue; not a league issue.
