City is as much to blame as anyone! Now all the sudden the CCP is patting himself on the back as if he is a hero! The same person that was on the radio stressing that he wants that building for another purpose! Apparently they let the entire staff go and brought back 1 employee to run the entire building! He's good, but I'm sure he doesn't run on energizer batteries! The city will most likely handcuff said employee and drive him out quickly leaving the building to fail! It's truly a shame! They let go of a non parent coach that was successful and taught the kids the finer points of the game! Rumor has it that they plan on running programs shortly? With 1 employee? They let go of the few reps they had! I walked in and 1 day they had a Pro Shop walked in and Poof! Gone! I asked the woman working the front and she said because of uncertainty! I know that a basically self appointed board has made a club for the Sharks which is a good thing, but are there bylaws? Was there an open election? Are others invited to be involved? Looked very high hush and private! Hoping the best for the kids but thinking it has become a political tool and in the end the kids will lose! Hopefully someone will open a new rink in a different town and give AC their ridiculous Roller Rink! The City is in shambles and they claim to care!

best of luck to all AC Shark families, we know that it is tough given current environment (gas costs not helping!), find a good place for your kids and move to next chapter, the hockey community is there to provide you information if needed.

BB is not at fault. 1 year lease does nothing for them when you need to recoup $400K+ in rink repais. CCP and AC are to blame. they think that land will be worth more for development, but it is swamp! CCP and AC should know down stadium and put in a skate park, playground for kids, green space and keep rink. They have not clue what they are doing. That is why AC is in bad shape!

I was hopeful for the club when I saw the Sharks eval posted on the DVHL facebook. It's a shame, hopefully you have other options. If you are like me you do what you have to do for your kid to play. I drive an hour each way to practice and home games for my kid to play.

The pro-BB crowd will say that would have happened anyway even if they didn't buy it.

Maybe the DVHL and EJ should team together and lease it or better one of the casinos should take it over. I would believe a casino can make ago at it as a rink for hockey, live events and more.

Maybe the casino could put slots in to pay for it. The rink is too small, not enough kids play and they lose money every year. This is not charity! Money needs to be made to make the rink work. AC is not a good spot for a rink!

My guess is the person that said about the casino is like myself and never saw the rink. I would have thought AC would put in a decent size rink with a capacity of 2-3000+ because of the location with the casinos. I'm not even sure if the rink is even located near a casino, just would have made sense to me. It's a shame.

AC alive and well, Sharks tryouts, great coaches, upgraded rink. Come take a look Tropicana nearby. Great City management in place that made AC famous!
