Greensboro - 47 year old Michael Todd Pegram will serve at least the next quarter of his life, perhaps the remainder behind bars for 8 counts of child sex abuse committed between 1991 and 1996. Pegram took advantage of his position of authority as a Winston-Salem YMCA counselor and youth hockey coach to abuse children. Mr. Pegram took full responsibility pleading guilty to all counts. The indictments allege the victims ranged from 12 to 16 years old at the time.
“He stole my innocence, he stole my childhood, he stole my virginity without my permission,” one of the men said. “I don’t forgive him.” Another said his mother committed suicide after he told her about the abuse.
