youth hockey is a disaster
youth hockey is fine, kids have fun playing at all levels, youth hockey parents are a disaster, they take all the joy out of the game.

case in point, an entire thread about pre-skates whether they're legal, yet everyone signs their kids up for them for fear of missing out.

I saw the Royals are still charging $50 to register still even though all other clubs waived that fee!  Looks like Black Bear needs money!  Sad that people haven’t followed the monopoly they are creating!  Parents wake up!

Pretty much $50 is cheaper than genesis at $75 and others at $100. What a deal the $50 is

They are all charging a registration fee and the Royals are the cheapest. If you haven't realized yet, youth hockey is all about making money and tryout-less registration is proof. What do any clubs need registration fees for? There's no ice!

ANYONE who gives these clubs and/or rinks a dime should be committed! Some of them will be foreclosed and may never reopen. Black bear will likely file for bankruptcy, leaving ALL creditors high and dry! Good luck getting your money back, so unless you can afford to lose it, DON'T GIVE THEM A DIME!

Interesting prospect. Tier 1 is required to have 12 skaters and 1 goalie. Some are planning on having tryouts for the remainder of the roster at a later date.

What is a bubble kid to do? Wait and risk being shut out of tier 1 and tier 2? Can't register and sign at tier 2 and then try out at a later date for tier 1.

Also. Seems as if most tier 2 is taking money and will evaluate what team you are on at a later date. Kid misses out on A or AA because of politics that you do not know about until well after contract signed and other teams established.

Bottom line. Get your popcorn ready. This is going to be an entertaining couple of months!

Just got an email from the Rockets. This decision was based on parent feedback from the survey?

Glenn and Atlantic District...please release the survey results. I don't know of any parents that thought it was a good idea.
