Hockeyclan PSA - Site Is Hacked

Be mindful and use diligence when browsing to this site.

About 3 weeks ago we were searching high school hockey looking for last season's SHSHL schedules and hockeyclan came up in the results. Google has flagged this site as being hacked. To see for yourself, open Google and type "hockeyclan" in the search field. You'll see exactly what the image above shows.

We contacted who we believe to be the owner of the site via Twitter advising their site is inundated with thousands upon thousands of Russian bot posts. Not just a few, but tens of thousands. And with them come popups. These popups can be malware, spyware or ransomware. Response to our notification was "thanks". Nothing's changed since.

So with that, if you visit the site and get popups on a computer, immediately do a ctrl+alt+delete and terminate all browser processes. If you're on a mobile device or tablet and you get popups immediately go to all open windows and close. Reopen your browser and go to history and delete all history.

A representative from The Hockey Clan has notified and advised they're now operating in a secure environment. It was an apparent hacking vulnerability which caused Google to label the site as a possible threat to web traffic visiting their site. All systems are go and Google has cleared the exploit. The label appended to their search result by Google has been removed.
