Some corrections:

-->Ducks has (10) DVHL travel teams and (6) Mite teams
   18AA – Playoff Bound & National Bound
   16AA – National Bound
   14UA – Playoff Bound
   14B – Playoff Bound
   12AA – Playoff Bound

   10LA – Playoff Bound
   10B

Certainly the upper ages are doing well for the Ducks and that's a reflection of the way things have been for a long time.  The comment that players leave JBH to play at a higher level is certainly accurate as of now and is a fair criticism of the way things have been operating.  There are players at the Ducks, at Delco, at CCSC and in AAA that all began at JBH, developed at JBH and for one reason or another felt as though they outgrew the club and moved on.  I think JBH's announcement that they are hiring a hockey director and that they are bringing in paid coaches for their upper teams is an attempt to change that paradigm.

How are season fees going to remain significantly lower than the surrounding organizations with the aspirations of ading on the overhead of several paid coaches and a hockey director.  Sounds like a fee increase is on the horizon...

It's so much lower that even with an increase it will be lower. Plus PIC will be raising ice rates to cover capital costs and to slowly squeeze the youth orgs.

How much lower can a club with their tuition's before they don't have enough to cover ice and coaching stipend? No clubs can go below $1800 per player or they will lose money. The only clubs that can go lower are rink owned. Saying "so much lower" isn't fiscally possible.

Speculator, Rabble Rouser, Drama Queen are all descriptive words for someone who casts uninformed rumors about ANY organization, facility or individual just because it seems you may be bitter from a personal (likely isolated) experience.

I'm not connected with either club, but certainly appears that there are trouble makers in the "blue house" trying to plead their case to cripple a direct competitor.  Unethical!

The Ducks say the Blue Hens must have learned something from them, but the Ducks should have learned something from the Blue Hens and not hired personnel that the Blue Hens fired for destroying their previous program.  Yes the Ducks will play out of the PIC next year.  But then their contract ends?  Expanding? It's chaos with the number of teams, number of locker rooms, and ice time as it is.  The huge number of people that came from the blue house was in essence a merging of the 2 programs last year anyway that was a cash grab that's lead to the chaos.  It's a shame for the children and families caught in the middle of this business restructuring.

Wow, if the organization is that fragil that a Mite coach can "destroy the previous program".  There is a tremendous amount of work ahead for you all, Good Luck

People, if your going to quiver over a few hundred dollars, hockey may not be the sport for you.

18/19 fees
Delco - $2300
Ducks - $2100
Holleydell - $3000+
JBH - $1500
Team Philly - $1900 (inaugural year, likely to go up)

Entering ethics into this conversation is hilarious.  Neither side of this can claim the ethical high ground.  They've both recruited each other's players, had people switch sides, have plotted on ways to out maneuver the other, etc, etc, etc and they are both continuing right now.  Anyone who tries to claim moral superiority is either ignorant to the truth or is flat out lying.

This entire conversation is an example of why these clubs will never merge.  In a vacuum, they should, but it won't happen any time soon whether the PIC makes it's own team or not.  The people who skate at one don't trust the ones that skate at the other.  About anything.  It's impossible to even start the conversation.  The conversation never really started this past year.  It never got past the very preliminary phase of discussion before the maneuvering started, trust broke down, and it ended.  The future of hockey in Delaware?  Everyone (meaning the kids that actually play) would be better off if they nuked both organizations, eliminated both boards entirely and started from scratch.  That won't happen.  In any merge scenario both sides would fight to keep their name, their colors, their control over the team selection process, their board members running the show, which rink would be the primary rink, etc.

So let's assume for a second that JBH and Ducks did manage to merge.  What then?  The PIC would almost certainly take the opportunity to make their own program immediately to fill that void and there would be 2 teams in Delaware again anyway, one at PIC and one at the University.  I fail to see what would actually change other than for the adults who want to run things.

What would happen in reality if PIC started it's own team is the JBH people would all shortsightedly celebrate and let the Ducks organization die.  Most of the Ducks players would end up back at PIC anyway along with a number of JBH people who have more beef with the Ducks organization than they have with Cardillo/PIC and we'd all be sitting right back in the same place.  JBH would gain nothing.  The Ducks would cease to exist. The Ducks players would move as a block into almost the same situation they have now and everything would just continue as it has.

Really, for Team Philly how is that supremely different from a player perspective than Quakers was?  They have a ton of players at a ton of divisions high and low.  They skate in the same place for the same people in many cases and with the same kids in many cases.  So they played in the EJEPL and traveled more for one year.  So?  Why would we expect it to unfold differently if that were to happen to the Ducks in the future?  I don't think it would.  They might lose a handful of kids to Delco and JBH but it won't be many.  JBH should be equally concerned about that happening because I'm quite sure there are many people who skate there who would be OK switching rinks if the Duck leadership was gone.  If PIC makes that move and is able to establish themselves quickly as a superior hockey option without the BS and drama then JBH would be in deep trouble too.

When the Mite Coach was also the Vice President of the organization, who came from the Ducks in the first place then went back to PIC and took an entire group of kids with him?  Yeah that can be pretty damaging and it can sew quite a bit of distrust.  I'm sure you'd feel the same way if your PWAA coach walked and brought his whole team with him.
