Postponed Games this Weekend
Topic: October 28, 2020, 12:11:15 PM
I count 25 games from 10U to 18U that have already been postponed for this upcoming weekend on the DVHL website.  Anyone want to venture how long it takes before we are shut down again because of COVID?

Multiple teams from Central Penn, Lehigh Valley, York postponing. Confirmation via phone call to a Philly burb rink where we recently played that at least one rink staff seriously ill with Covid. Getting unconfirmed reports from parents at other clubs of quarantines not listed as postponed games, possibly before games started. Seeing kids who supposed to be on quaratining teams showing up at other rinks.

Need DVHL and AAHA to step up and give information on circumstances of quarantines,  whether contact with positive outside team and team quarantining out of caution, or multiple positive cases in team, club or rink.

This fall season was a fantasy. If season gets postponed,  need to go back to original USA Hockey guidance, limit games to in-rink team scrimmages, no travel between rinks just keep your kid at one rink, when cases go down, open to scrimmages with neighboring rink, inter- region play only when community cases substantially lower.

Do what Ontario is doing. No face offs, masks on benches, no checking, 3x3 or 4x4 only. This is the only way to keep our rinks open. Whoever thought kids traveling from York to Delaware to NJ to Allentown to tournaments all over every weekend was going to work must have been high.

If you're the same guy who is getting his info from rink workers, please stop. We already shut down another thread for unsubstantiated rumors.

York got nailed by the DVHL for not following proper COVID protocol. There punishment is no league games for two weeks.

2 coaches went to games knowing they had tested positive.

Thats incorrect.   The dvhl letter disproves that in itself.  You could possibly argue one coach did, and there's much circumstance surrounding that argument as well.

If you have an axe to grind with York with your matter of fact accusation, go grind your blades for men's league.

A generalized FYI for posting rumors and unconfirmed reports.

Please be able to substantiate the claim(s). We have no problem allowing covid related situations as they happen. It's the nosophobia type fear-mongering that is designed to insight panic which is the problem. If you can substantiate the rumors and reports great we'll leave it. Otherwise, there's no place for it here, it will be removed.

Thanks!
