They are covering there asses. Make it look like its a membership decision while there really wasnt going to be any input from membership. Its how they always do business.

Application of the Law
Because 501(c)(3) organizations are by definition private endeavors, they are not subject to laws regulating governmental information. Sunshine laws are in place to provide the public access to the inner workings of government. They do not allow private individuals access to information pertaining to other private citizens.

So how does this work? Our team is hosting a game with a team from a region of PA that goes back into red phase due to a sudden increase in cases in that region. We don't want that team and parents travelling to our region. Game gets canceled? Postponed? Or what if a team has players and parents from multiple regions and now half their team is on lockdown? Or who bears liability if a team disregards lockdowns and lets players from a quarantined region play, and then that team infects a kids/parents/officials in another region or rink and shuts down those teams? Who is tracking the contacts of players? This isn't an "if you're worried,  don't play" decision,  it's a practical discussion for those who are paying money and don't want to miss half the season because other teams are playing sick or not abiding lockdowns.

Quit being such an alarmist you big baby. It doesn't affect kids. Its nothing more than a cold to them. Let them play and don't go to the rink if you are so afraid.

The entire situation is no worse than the flu. Keep your grandparents at home.

So what  >:(. Its proven this virus has little to no effect on children and healthy adults. Like any virus if the person is immuno compromised or in poor health it can be deadly. This is no longer about a virus its government control.
