Another coaching post, I found this to be rather interesting. While it isn't hockey related, I do believe this relates to any team sport. Nick Saban suggests at crunch time, who better than the players to determine the outcome of a game. At the higher levels would you entrust your team leaders to decide the outcome or are you determined to have the decision fall on you?

I can see his point and think there is a place for this, with a caveat. If it's AA or AAA and midget level, possibly bantam. I think it would build trust, player to coach and between the players themselves. Though I would reserve the right to choose who goes onto the ice.
