Michigan hockey parent here.  We live in a state of limbo with the same type of governor.  We are all looking to see about tournaments out of state to play in, since there aren't many here.
We have 5 phases of shutdown and multiple zones.  Most of us are in phase 2, while rinks are not "legally" allowed to open until phase 5.  Our governing body is following the CDC and government recommendations.  Many of us are guessing no house/rec hockey, only travel teams, and not being allowed to play scrimmages/games until late fall or January.
Sounds like PA is in the same boat.  What are other Midwest and east coast states saying?

It's about the schools. Until schools open and we get a better handle on how case increases affect staying open, they won't add another variable. There are already reports of teams and players who have been quarantined but then kids are playing with another team or going outside state and not quarantining before and after, or rinks opening "privately" when they shouldn't have. Some parents and coaches have already effed it up for the rest of us. The way to get kid on this rink right now and having some fun is to follow the rules and stick to in-house scrimmages with the same rink-wide pod or bubble of kids, keep it no-check so different levels can play together, wait it out until november or December and see what happens in the schools. It's going to be impossible to put together a schedule if schools have cases then those kids in entire classes or schools need to stay at home and quarantine. Just do a pick-up game schedule and keep the kids on the ice.

If schools are closed to students but remain open for scholastic sports activities it defeats the governors purpose of having the schools closed for educational purposes, and his main interest; closed in person voting.

The schools have to remain open in order to come and go with sports equipment, which would mean they would have to remain open for voting stations and in person votes.

With the shut down of scholastic activity schools will be locked down with no entry, which means no in person voting.

Churches, also voting places, locked. Starting to see the big picture? Full lockdown is't far behind.

All of those places were closed for the primary and we still had in person voting, why wouldn't it be the same for general election. Also, our school district is already off on election days since a few schools are used as polling places so it wouldn't matter if kids were physically going in because they wouldn't be there anyway.
Finally, if this whole conspiracy is for the Democrats to get mail in voting, how does that benefit them any differently that the Republicans.

Take your conspiracy BS back to Facebook. No one is interested in your irrational nonsense.

An entire high school football team and the entire marching band were just put in quarantine in Alabama. If school were also in session, you'd have to assume all the classes those football and band kids were in would also be in quarantine meaning no club sports either. Every time a school is in quarantine which will be every other week all those hockey players will have to quarantine for two weeks of games and practices meaning cancelled and postponed games. Save the scheduling headaches and wait until 2021.

And it will be a headache for the rinks as well. They'll lose money with postponed and cancelled games. A smarter thing to do and which would keep rinks in business and kids on ice is a pick-up games schedule played each week with healthy kids all from the same rink. Pick one rink to play at in the fall and stay there, no rink jumping and one kid shutting down five rinks in an area.

Did Governor Wolf ever play sports, or even know the first thing about sports?
