BRISTOL, PA. The Golden Hawks of Council Rock South appear to be in lock step with coach Joe Houk's game plan this season. They are the defending SHSHL champions and are very much looking like the odds-on favorite to repeat. Wednesday night at Grundy arena the Hawks put the Neshaminy Redskins down with their third straight mercy rule decision. With over ten minutes remaining in the third period, Jake Wiener, closed out the game scoring his third of the night for a 10-0 win. The Hawks finished off the week beating CB South by a score of 6-3.

The Hawks have beaten "AAA" APAC opponents Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds, and Malvern Prep Friars in non-league play, and in addition have beaten all four of their SHSHL opponents Central Bucks West Bucks, Souderton Indians, Neshaminy Redskins, and CB South Titans in early regular season game play, all but one with the mercy rule and a combined forty-two goals for, and five goals against versus the Suburban league teams.

Coach Joe Houk's resume includes numerous post season appearances in both the SHSHL playoffs and Flyers Cup Tournament. Houk is a three-time SHSHL League Champion in years 2010, 2020, and 2023, as well as Class AA Flyers Cup Tournament Champion in years 2009, 2011, and 2012.

If the Golden Hawks team leaders and veteran players can maintain their composure and stick to the game plan the only team that can beat them is themselves.
