COLMAR, PA. For Shane Dachowski winning seems to be a common trait. When Shane was a student at Mater Dei Catholic he began his school hockey career, but not for Mater Dei, they did not have a hockey program. Instead, Dachowski played for the North Penn Knights triple-A middle school team. Because he attended private school, kids in middle school were allowed to play for the local public school hockey team if their institution didn't have one. While he was with the Knights he won a regular season and spring league AAA championship.
In his freshman year, Dachowski, like his older brother, Colin, switched from private to public school, playing for the Pennridge Rams. Unlike his defenseman brother, Shane is a forward. During that season the younger Dachowski put up seventeen goals and six assists for a total of twenty-three points in seventeen games. The youngster, already known for his goal-scoring prowess was on his way to accumulating what will become the school's history-making scoring record. Shane has played for the Hatfield Ice Dogs, then what became and still is Genesis Hockey Club at the AA level throughout his club hockey career as well.
The Rams boast another two-hundred-point goal scorer, the current scoring king, Kevin Pico. Pico graduated last season and was also Dachowski's original linemate. Along with another high-scoring linemate, Andrew Savona, the trio was the highest-scoring line in the SHSHL for two years straight. Together last season they combined for almost three hundred total points between the regular and post-season including the Flyers Cup Tournament.
Today, Dachowski is on pace to eclipse Pico, to take over sole possession of the career scoring record for the Pennridge Rams. The Rams are doing well this season too, currently in first place in the National Division tied in points with the North Penn Knights, Pennridge is looking to make another postseason run for the Suburban High School Hockey League title, as well as the Flyers Cup Tournament too.
