I am not sure parents will be sending 14 year old kids to JRF to billet at AAA. Only 4 14 year old's can play on 15U team anyway so not sure this affects anything. At 17U all the best players are already at Prep or Juniors so 17U will not be top 2%. Identifying top 2% at 15U (4 14 U) is ridiculous and kind of meaningless. So much growth in players game occur between 14U and 18U. I personally think little will change for AAA hockey. AYHL goes no where. At 15U and above the talent is not the best as best players leave AYHL. At 14U and below, nothing changes in AYHL.
BB got their teams in DL with Seacoast Performance Academy and Mt. St. Charles. Heard 14U Flyers Elite will become 14U BB Academy team next year. Is this a move to make those teams better and attract local kids with spots promised at SPA and MSC? BB already can offer placement of best kids at 2 junior teams they own- NAHL (Maryland) USHL (Phantoms). Can't believe I am saying this, but I think FE/BB may be in the best position locally to attract better local & national talent and better coaching since they control 2 NDL teams, have BB Academy, and own 2 junior teams. Did BB see this coming and outsmarted other area AAA teams?
PHC has an NAHL team, but they did not get a DL spot. I mention USHL & NAHL Junior teams because these and US NDTP are only 3 organizations players can leave DL for. Now what does "we are not dead yet" mean for PHC? Will they get 1 of 3 remaining spots? I think NJ got too many teams already so not sure they get in.
