UPDATE:BLOOMINGTON, MN. Landen Hoffman, of Woodbury, suffered two broken arms, a broken leg and fractures to his face and skull when Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, 24, tossed him nearly 40 feet from a third-floor balcony during a random April 12 attack at the mall in Bloomington. Family spokesman Noah Hanneman announced Tuesday that Landen has been released from an inpatient physical rehab program where he was being treated following his time in intensive care.
Landen will now “enter the next phase of recovery,” including “continued outpatient rehabilitation for multiple injuries and adjusting to life back at home and school,” Hanneman wrote on a GoFundMe page that has exceeded its $1 million fundraising goal since its creation the day after the attack.

5-year-old boy who was thrown from a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America on April 12 shows no signs of brain damage, according to video posted on Facebook by his family’s church.
Mac Hammond, pastor of the Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, updated his congregation on the boy’s condition on Easter Sunday. Hammond added that Landen suffered several broken bones.
“One of his attending physicians said this: ‘This is truly a miracle. … It’s like he fell off a bicycle instead of the third floor of a mall,'” Hammond said.
