Bogus Scouting news

How does the community allow this bogus scouting service to survive? so many negative stories changing kids rankings based on subscriptions and not one legit scout endorses this scam. Amazing how some rinks post this stuff on their websites like its legit.

It’s the parents who build this up!  Many buy in and get subscriptions to my hockey rankings.com and others so they can brag.  In the end it really doesn’t matter!  Most organizations have lost site of player development and made it more about winning.  Some have teams that clearly should be at Aa levels but their organization wants winners so if two teams the young team will play in A.  Furthermore some of them join the EJ league.  Not a very good league that but costs a pretty penny, but parents brag about having more games.  Youth hockey in Eastern PA needs help.  It’s sad!  The almighty dollar runs youth hockey and parents dish it out thinking it will place their child somewhere at a higher level in the future!

I first heard about this site 5 years ago.  There were so many complaints about them back then.   They were accused of defaming kids because the subscriptions were cancelled.

Anybody who falls for the  "kids first" sales pitch from club management is stupid. THere isn't one club hockey program that cares about the players expecially in Jersey and PA. They care about the money period. It's a great way to cheat on taxes and make a ton of money.

Great way to generate funds to pay for season tickets to all 4 of Philly's sports teams.

Personally know many USHL & NAHL scouts. Not one looks at this type of nonsense. All scout and evaluate players themselves based upon attending tournaments and knowing credible coaches. Parents need to be realistic about their player’s abilities - simply cannot buy your way into Tier 1 or 2 juniors.

So True, I get a chuckle every time I see a rink advertising their Programs "kids" as being highly scouted by NCAA from "scouting news". Really speaks volumes about rinks integrity to push "fake news" makes you wonder how parents are so clueless to believe this nonsense.
