Patriot Ice Center Dangerous Ice Conditions Lead To Cancellations

FYI, it might be in your best interest to call ahead before traveling to PIC. The above image was sent to us advising a recent 18AA Ducks game vs LV had to be stopped midway through the second period due to deteriorating ice conditions obviously creating an unsafe playing environment. That's a lot of mileage to travel only to find out your game is either cancelled or has to be cut short because the rink is unable to keep ice in proper playing condition.

We were also informed games were cancelled.

The incident on Sunday was due to driver error and was fixed Sunday evening. We are embarrassed and want to apologize to the teams affected. We are in contract with CIMCO and confirmed that all equipment is working properly. Our Olympic surface is scheduled for concrete repair in March. We have made adjustments recently that have allowed us to provide an improved surface but very much look forward to a new sheet that will be ready in April. We understand that our top two responsibilities are a nice, fast surface and a clean rink and have recently contracted Cintas to take care of the latter.
