It’s a shame how terrible club hockey has become, especially considering the enormous amount of time, money, and commitment that players and parents put into it. Families sacrifice so much, only to be rewarded with a subpar product and shit coaching. Coaching shouldn’t be left to dads who think they know the game simply because their kids play it. These young athletes deserve qualified, experienced coaches who prioritize player development over personal agendas and favoritism. What’s even more frustrating is that it only gets worse as the kids get older, when the competition, financial commitment, and expectations are even higher. Youth hockey in the Atlantic District has become an absolute disappointment, and unfortunately, the kids are left with dealing with shit, and parents have to watch.
