do tell.......regarding Freeze, never understood why get rid of strong organization
Very simply, BBSG wants full ownership and control over who plays there. The Freeze had separate ownership than the rink. When the rink was sold, they tried to buy the team but they wouldn’t sell… so they made life impossible for them in many ways and essentially drove them out. Then they had to find a way to play their rink-owned team in the NJYHL so they branded it as an “extension” of another team that they did own, the Kings.
If it sounds sleazy, that’s because it 100% is.
Not the case with Atlantic City, where they own the team as well. If they were to stay in the NJYHL, they’d probably “move” the Sharks name to another rink that they own or acquire (after driving out the current club), but since they now own the league (AHF) and make up their own rules, they’re free to do what they want.
