It’s not a matter of rejecting anyone - it’s a matter of having them play at the level that is appropriate to their skill and development needs.

My daughter is a pee wee major playing with boys and I'm perfectly content with where she is. She's as good as them and they have no problem with her playing on their team. Acceptance isn't an issue and neither is playing time. Next year will be though and we're preparing to move her to girls club hockey. There's no place in boys bantam level for girls regardless of their talent. I see girls playing and getting beat around the rink like rag dolls and I'll never understand why their parents or the league allow this. This isn't a case of tolerance or inclusion when girls hit the age when hitting becomes a part of the game. It's flat out stupidity.
