LANSDALE, PA. - The 2022-2023 Suburban High School Hockey League schedule has been released and the first games are set to begin on Wednesday, November 2nd. The first evenings events are listed as follows.
Council Rock North Indians @ Central Bucks South Titans | Hatfield Blue | 7:20pm
Quakertown Panthers @ Bensalem Owls | Grundy B | 7:20pm
Central Bucks East Patriots @ North Penn Knights | Hatfield Gray | 8:30pm
Souderton Indians @ Council Rock South Golden Hawks | Grundy B | 9:00pm
This season should be pretty exciting as the Pennridge Rams will look to defend their extraodinary accomplishments from the previous 2021-22 campaign. The Rams completed a near perfect season with only one blemish, a 3-3 tie to the CR South Golden Hawks at the end of their season schedule. Other than that, they steamrolled their way through the post season SHSHL Championship, Flyers Cup Tournament, and Pennsylvania State Cup Finals, winning them all and finishing with an amazing 26-0-1 combined record. Pennridge lost nine players to graduation but much of their firepower still remains.
After a quick run through of the roster's from around the league it looks like it could be a much more level playing surface which should make for more competitive matchups across the regular season schedule. The Council Rock Indians are back and besides losing two of their higher level players, the core is still in tact and should make for a very dangerous squad to play against. The Indians made the playoffs for the first time in several years last season and will be hungry for more. The Bensalem Owls come back with virtually the same team as last season as well. They may not have a big roster but they put up an heck of a fight to play against.
Come out and support your team, season passes from the SHSHL will be available and ticket entry to all games will still be available at the door. This season appears to have the majority of the games being played at Hatfield Ice, Grundy Arena, and Bucks County Ice. There are still games being played at Revolution Ice Gardens but you'll want to check your teams schedule for certainty.
The Springfield Twp. Spartans have joined the SHSHL and will play in the American Division for the 2022-2023 season.
