Why is anybody assuming anything? The poster who posted this has a legitimate complaint because this happens at every level age group. It isn't confined to just 16 year olds.

It happens everywhere and all the time, because Youth Hockey is a Business , if the team wins in the tournament it becomes a promotional tool recruit new family’s/kids to the club/team

For the past 3 years my kids A National teams played in tournaments in Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania from pee wee to midget. 7 times between the two of them their teams made finals and lost, every time to undefeated double AA teams that steam rolled through the tournaments.
