PRE eval skill clinics

What is the difference between these and the tryouts date? My kids just finished the season and the team says they should be in this to stay sharp.

Three reason for them.
1 Moneymaker for the rinks
2 Early recruiting for the teams (wink, wink, this never happens)
3 Help the players stay sharp for tryouts

First could two reasons can be interchangeable in importance.  The third one is an afterthought.

It's for the rinks to make money during downtime and for the clubs to try and get a look at possible new players. If your kid already plays for the club don't bother it's not there for existing players. Unless your kid just wants extra skating time then it's useful.

Most clubs will want returning players to show up though, especially if they are good.  They need the existing players to be seen by the parents of the new players so that they get comfortable that the new team they may be coming to is both good and the existing players are staying.

True

and most of these Clinics are put on by the Rinks not the Clubs ( wink wink) so they are open to all.
