Future, I have college and Jr questions
Topic: September 07, 2019, 11:37:06 PM
I currently play second line Midget U18AAA as a first year in the USPHL... I want to eventually play in the NCDC/NAHL... and then some level of NCAA hockey.

I have been offered roster spots on USPHL Premier and WSHL teams.

Any suggestions?

Some questions. What state are you currently playing in? Most important question, if you're playing second line are you getting good minutes? Being offered roster spots with no guarantee on playing time could be a big mistake. If you aspire to play at a high level you need to keep good minutes. Have you or your parents had discussions with scouts, jr or college scouts or recruiters yet?

If your on the east coast take a look at the EHL. It's a pretty good league and can open doors to where you want to be.

First off, congratulations on your success and I applaud you for looking for guidance. You are at a pivotal point in your hockey career. My advice is to source out a mentor.
I recommend Jason Podollan, someone who has been there, played in the NHL and knows the ropes.

He loves chatting with players who are looking to take their career to the next level. If you would like a conversation with him, I would be happy to connect the two of you (via a zoom call).
Best of luck!

Try reaching out to the schools you are interested in. See if you can talk to players about their experiences and what they've done. There's also recruiters but I don't know what kind of budget you have because they can get really expensive. Research, you and your parents can do all of the same things recruiters do to get in contact with schools and junior teams.
