1st year 12u parents asking about tailgaiting
Topic: September 27, 2019, 09:49:56 AM
We aren't new to travel hockey but tailgaiting at kids events is new to us. Is it normal for parents of 12u players to be drinking at 9am on saturday 2 hours before a game time in the parking lot?

Is there a problem with adults doing what adults do?

Not at all. Now if they’re falling down drunk or belligerent then what would the issue be? Id stay away from them if I didn’t condone their adult decisions. Parking lots are big enough for everyone.

I'm not saying we don't condone it but I don't drink beer and my husband hasn't drank beer in the morning since college almost 15 years ago, it caught us a little off guard.

I don't trust parents who don't drink before hockey games no matter the time

To each their own. Whoever is even asking this question is doomed. Mind your business.  What’s it got to do with you or your kid?  It’s laced with judgment. And you got it right back.

Be responsible parents. I've done a few tailgates between games at tournaments and it was fun for the adults and kids.  Grilling and fun.
