Council Rock North came into this one as the underdogs, and rightfully so.It was clear to see from the 5-minute warm-up session, that Neshaminy was a strong team. Much to CR North’s dismay, that inference was true. Neshaminy dominated the Indians for their second straight win of the season, 10-0. The Indians had a tough time getting the offense going tonight. They also had a rough go-around on the defensive end. This was due to the superb skating and shooting skills of the Neshaminy squad. At some points, it felt like North’s goalie, Rex Goldberg, was stranded on a desert island. But, this left an opportunity for him to make great saves; 25 saves on 35 shots. For Neshaminy, Nolan Geria had two goals to lead the Redskins.
While Many Indians fans may want to put this loss in the past, there were some positive takeaways. Wilton Pasch had a punishing hit on Neshaminy’s Jacob Helms right in front of the CR North bench. Colin Kiefer had a chance early in the second to put one home after he deflected a pass, caught the puck in mid-air, brought it down and got the shot off. But, he didn’t quite get all of it and a save was made. It was, however, a great play by Kiefer to get the chance. All of the North skaters tried their hardest. But, in the end, veteran experience prevailed for Neshaminy, in a game that ended in a mercy rule at the end of 2 periods.
