Pennsbury Falcons Ghost Writer

BRISTOL, PA. - The Pennsbury Falcons Ice Hockey team have come a long way in the last few seasons. They were looking to prove that against a perennial powerhouse in the SHSHL, the aptly named Titans of CB South. The Falcons have lost the previous four meetings against the Titans dating all the way back to the 2015/2016 season, losing in a 10 goal mercy rule three out of those four times. In those four games, the Falcons had given up 38 goals while only scoring 1. Of course, a win was what they were aiming for but they were at least hoping for an improvement over the last four meetings.

The Titans came out on fire, but the Falcons defense kept up with them throughout the first. Especially notable was Junior defenseman Jack Boyle, who has a steady and focused defensive style and didn’t let the speed of the Titans throw him off his game. The Titans got off 19 shots in the first 16 minutes, but were only able to get one Power Play goal past Sophomore goaltender Topher Seiler. The Falcons were able to manage only 5 shots in the first and knew that they were going to have to get more offensive pressure going in the second. They were able to do that, outshooting the Titans 14-12 in the second period. But it wasn’t enough to crack Titan goaltender Mason Moyer. With the Titans leading 4-0 near the end of the second, Senior Beau Yedman was able to capitalize on the Power Play and score the only goal for the Falcons of the contest.

The game ended with the Titans prevailing by a score of 7-1. They also lead in shots, 44 to the Falcons 25. But for the first time in the last five seasons, the Falcons didn’t look so outmatched by the Titans.
