FALCONS FALL TO KNIGHTS

The last time Pennsbury and North Penn’s varsity teams met on the ice was on March 6, 2019 in a first-round Flyers Cup match up. That game went to the Knights, 9-5. The Falcons were hoping that this game would have a different result.

BRISTOL, PA. - The game started out strong for both teams. They were trading scoring chances at each end. But it was North Penn who struck first and within a few minutes, they had the lead 2-0. The Falcons kept working and before the end of the first, they would strike back when Senior Jake Machlovitz was able to score short-handed. The first period ended with the Knights ahead 2-1.

The Falcons started out flying in the second and Freshman Brendan Macainsh scored just over a minute in. The Falcons had come from two goals behind to tie it up. It seemed like they had some momentum going their way but just 18 seconds later North Penn scored and was able to take the lead again. The Knights added a Power Play goal before the end of the period, taking a 4-2 lead into the third.

In the third, the Falcons just weren’t able to keep up with the quick skating and puck movement from the Knights. Junior Erik Eisler was able to net one more for the Falcons, but it wasn’t enough and the Knights were the winners with a final score of 8-3. Eisler and Macainsh were the players of the game for the Falcons; both had two points on the night.
