To play in dvhl or independent and how do the Patriot Ice rink have enough ice for the Ducks, Patriots and the new team?

What age level for the 2 teams will be introduced? Per the previous guest comment, where will they play and in which league? Or will this be independent elite?
First State Ice Hockey will offer development opportunities for players and coaches of all ages and skill levels throughout the state, and will also unveil two teams of their own: the First State Flames, who will begin play in the 2020-21 season; and the First State Inferno, who will compete this spring and summer. Details will be finalized in the coming weeks.

With all of the bickering and fighting between the Blue Hens and Ducks plus the Patriots we're now adding another team to the mix? 3 clubs out of one rink with 2 surfaces? I see nothing good coming out of this.

I can't imagine 3 clubs out of one rink! Especially when some TLC is needed for their sheets of ice.

They can't be in the DVHL with another DVHL club in the same rink, right?

Nope. They will be have to be independent. I know the Ducks and Blue Hens have their issues, but what's the draw for this club? EJ league and tournaments?
Didn't someone else try to start a new club down their a few years ago and it never got off the ground? Can't remember the name. I think they were touting it as a Tier 1 alternative.

There's two the Delaware Rough Riders who tried to get into the DVHL but was voted down and Delaware Prep. And now there will be another one.

Clearly the most brilliant idea to come out of Delaware since gun powder...

Forget the DVHL for a moment as they’ll never get in-

If you stretch, you currently have 4 programs. Patriots / Ducks (All Ducks starting next year), JBH, Stars/RoughRiders and NightHawaks.

Even here you have some division within the rinks that house these programs. No linear culture or continuity of program which is the only way to run a successful program and cater to the development of ALL players not just the kids that mature early.

So... with dwindling numbers in each of these watered down programs, what Delaware really needs is an all new program! Void of a dedicated home rink! Boom!

The only way this (as with any independent program) even has a remote possibility of working would be if there are deep deep pockets with cash to burn. You still need a home rink. Then given the current climate of hockey in the state there would also need to be a major name (think retired NHL player) involved as well as some true top end coaches- and by coaches I mean player development coaches with a strong ability to develop skills and focus on long term development... Not just yell from the bench in games.

I’ll give it to them- They identified the problem with hockey in the state correctly. However this is not even close to the solution and will only compound the “mass exodus of talented players (and coaches) to programs outside of the state”...

Not enough ICE.

Not enough PLAYERS.

Not enough COACHES.
