WPIAL Will Defy Governors Orders
Topic: August 21, 2020, 10:15:35 PM
So if the WPIAL can just ignore the governor’s guidelines and massage the numbers so kids can play football, why can’t the AAHA and DVHL - we can have 3 individual gatherings too - 25 on each bench and 25 on ice 😁

Allegheny County and the WPIAL say the outdoor gathering limit of 50 still applies to sports, but teams on the sidelines and the players on the field each count as three individual gatherings.

That is brilliant. I challenge the DVHL in the Atlantic District to explain why the hell they can’t do the same exact thing, interpret the guidelines in this way, and proceed with full games. I suspect it comes down to balls, which perhaps they do not have any?

This might work for outdoor sports but for a rink all you need is one asshole parent to complain and in come the Wolf brigade to lock up the rink.

Wait a minute, either you believe in your interpretation or you don’t? There’s enough gray area in these guidelines to plead confusion. Why the hell are we allowing all of us to be held hostage because of one or two asshole parents?Proceed with this interpretation and let’s see if in fact the Wolf brigade has the audacity to step in or not. Why not do it and test the limits?  Why interpret the gray guidelines in its most strictest sense?  Perhaps that’s what they are counting on that organizations will be intimidated and stay closeD when in fact if they do open the State really isn’t going to take the time to step in and enforce. And you know what? If they do step in and enforce at least you’ freaking tried versus being scared by guidelines that you know are hypocritical, ridiculous, and unfair.

They are already stepping in and enforcing. Absolutely know this. There are more parents reporting than you know, and rightfully so. Don't shut down your rink or pony up the fines and lawyers fees on behalf of your rink.

Couldn't plexiglass walls be built to make each bench its own room?  No different than players waiting in locker room!

The only issue with that almost every rink is financially straining right now.  I don't expect for them to pay for rink alterations.
