Meaning the Youth Titans, Northeast Generals and Danbury Hat Tricks are elite youth hockey organizations?  Feels like being with the Rockets, Hitmen, Junior Bruins and Philadelphia Hockey Club is good company.

Mercer is part of AYHL, so I don't think that statement is true

Not anymore.  Mercer and FE are now part of the newly reimagined USPHL South in partnership with the THF.

When are parents going to learn..... say what you want about AYHL, but USPHL is not any better with competition, playing Titans 2nd AAA team (Whalers)?  wow....

with all the changes the two leagues are virtually identical.  Same number of teams, same average rankings, similar geography.  AYHL maybe a little more spread out with Virginia team, but the two leagues are the same.

USPHL South has teams as far north as Albany/Utica, as far west as Pittsburgh, and as far south as MD and VA. Definitely more travel involved with the USPHL than the AYHL.

Competition wise, the swapping of PHC/Palmyra for Mercer/FE is basically a wash to what the leagues were last year.  The AYHL is a bit deeper at most birthyears, but it's not a huge disparity.  Some top end teams in USPHL that are better than or equal to their AYHL counterparts.  AYHL seems to be the more organized and well run league, but BB stepping could change that.

only difference between the two leagues is structure.  AYHL plays everyone twice.  Lots of blowouts.  THF is based on level of play - better competition for each team at each level.  AY travel is Hartford to Leesburg, Virginia - thats 7 hours of driving. leagues are the same but structure
