AAA Next Season
Topic: November 24, 2023, 04:22:17 PM
I was told Flyers Elite is going to have pure age teams below Bantam next season- 2015, 2014, 2013 & 2012. Anybody heard the same? Son is 2013 AA this season and we are only 30 mins from rink. The 2011 & 2013 records are not great this year, but does anyone know if it is worth going AAA 1st year PeeWee and is the program any good? Any honest opinions are appreciated. Please don't make this a bash AAA/Flyers Elite thread!

Rink is a dump, but ice is great. Not familiar with coaches, except 2011 coach. He is great skating/development coach. THF league is low level AAA and except top teams, more like AA. Cost for AAA is high compared to AA, but AA is really A since pure age teams this year. If kid is good enough Flyers Elite a good option with PHC and Revolutuon set at 2013 and Mercer team is pretty bad. I heard Flyers Elite needs 2013 and 2012 players. 2014 and 2015 have good #'s and both teams getting a lot of interest. Good luck!

The 2011 team has been competitive this year, which is saying a lot since they have a bunch of 2012’s. I hear they have a ton of ice time.

I just looked they have a player interest form I would fill that out and see if someone reaches out to you that way you can get direct information from the club itself

My son wants to play AAA next season. I called multiple AAA organizations (Little Flyers, Revolution, Mercer, PHC & Flyers Elite) to get information on their programs. All organizations were friendly with the exception of one, PHC. The person I spoke with at PHC, who shall go unnamed (you know who you are), was very rude and dismissive! Below is what I learned about Flyers Elite from them and a friend:

Both 2011/2012 & 2013/2014 play pure 2011 & 2013 teams. Both competitive- 2013/2014 team better record. BB/Flyers Elite want all pure teams next season (more money for rink).  2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 all need multiple skaters (6 or more per team), goalies needed at 2011, 2012 & 2014. 2013 goalie very good, back-up needed. 2015 team has feeder program from Pilots (AAA full ice mite program), but may need 3 or more skaters and 2 goalies. For parents with girls, they have girls on multiple teams (2012, 2013 & Pilots ) and will take more. Teams focus on player development rather than just winning at all costs.

I narrowed down tryout options for son to Little Flyers & Flyers Elite. Not sure what org we will chose. Both are about 45 minutes from my house so, it will come down to what team offers best shot at making team.

A great way to get to know the rinks, Coaches and players is to go to one of their ID skates or clinics each has to offer .. This helps you and your player find the right fit. You personally can see what each rink, team, Coach and players are before tryouts.
Good Luck !!
