Not the start the SEPA and SNJ PW teams wanted:

Flyers- 3-2 OT loss to Honeybaked (good showing but Honeybaked is over rated this year)
Hershey- 4-0 loss to Oakland (this team is just not good)
Atlantic Selects- 5-0 loss to Hong Kong (this is BB team and some of the players on this roster can't
                                                          play!)

Time will tell if the this area sent the best teams. Looking at each roster I could name at least 5 kids for all 3 teams that are better than what is currently on the rosters. Why did those kids not get selected? Did those kids even tryout? If no tryout, why? Cost to go to tournament? Biased selection process on all 3 teams? If the SEPA/SJ area wants to send competitive teams to QPW then something needs to change. Too many picks based on rinks they play at. Atlantic Region (with the exception of Devils QPW team) is a joke!

So losing two games by one goal each somehow equates to the team sucks?  It seems the Flyers team is quite competitive at the highest level in Quebec which is what you want. 

My son played in 2010 so I can't speak to how the team was selected this year, but you really seem to have a hard-on for how these teams are doing.  Sorry your son didn't make the team... if he couldn't make JRF or HJB, maybe he just wasn't good enough?  Look at the positive, you saved ~$8 to $10K based on how much it costs to play and attend.

My son did not try out- he is 11. He may tryout next season but since he does not play for one of the 3 AYHL clubs I cite below, I doubt he will have a shot. I know 6-7 kids that did try out and got cut. I know 4 kids that grew 4-5 inches since tryouts in June (for a Feb tourney, Why?) and are better now than half the team that was chosen. My issue is the teams that are sent at AAA level keep pulling 75% of the kids from the same 3 clubs- JrF, PHC & LF. They rarely do well. Flyers lost by 1 goal to LI Stars who got crushed by Nashville 7-2. Honeybaked, who beat Flyers in OT, play Nashville tomorrow so we will see how that goes. So Flyers team is finished after 2 games. That is just a great showing! The AAHA rarely if ever choses the best kids. It is the old boys network at its finest!

Flyers- 28th place out of 32- who cares if the games were 1 goal. They are 28th!
Hershey- 24th place of of 28
Atlantic Selects- currently 27 out of 28 but may finish last depending on outcome of Romania game

But, Devils are 2-0 and play Columbus tomorrow in quarterfinals. I guess the Northern team did not have to worry about the outsized influence of PHC, JRF or LF!

Devils win and advance. PHC/JRF/LF- I mean Flyers- 0-2, 24th place= embarrassment! Stop letting these 3 teams dominate the selection process! AAHA are a bunch of p*ssies that let JrF & PHC bully them into selecting their players!

I agree with you. JRF-PHC kids are given a free pass year after year. One individual last year made the Flyers PWQ team because of "Flyers employee" connection. That player is a A-Player and later on made the JR Flyers without attending tryouts because of the same connection. AAHA is a total joke, i can't wait to see what suckers they got to attend Austria this summer. I bet the A player is on that ro$ter

JF and PHC are overrated except at 2013 age. Once parents wakeup to this around 2nd yr PW the teams start to suck. My son is 2014 and is already looking forward to trying out for Quebec. I am hesitant to let him because tryouts are a money grab for AAHA and since he is not on JF or PHC his chances of making team are 5% at best. AAHA teams are about who you play for and not about ability! Just a damn joke!

Devils in semis vs Mid Fairfield. Great showing! Flyers/PHC/JF/LF suck! Pick better team that is not 75% reliant on those 3 teams and maybe you reach semisfinals!
