Black Bear Academy Fallout

So with the Black Bear Academy U18AAA folding our U18AA team was just notified that we have to take on one of their players, despite our team having a Full roster (20 players).

This means 1 player will be scratched every game. Also one player would become ineligible for Districts and Nationals on Dec 31.

USA Nationals limits rosters to 18 skaters and 2 goalies.

Are you sure? our 18u team only allows 18 skaters and 2 goalies to dress for games, anything over that is a taxi/practice player that will be used to fill injury spots if needed.

Once Dec. 31st hits they have to have a final team roster of 20 players for districts and Nationals if the team was to make it that far.

I think what the OP is trying to say is someone on the 21 player team is going to get cut Dec. 31st, which is BS since there are still roughly 2 months left in the season.

Not sure how BB is planning to compensate the player who is cut at the end of December with roughly 1 1/2 months worth of the season remaining.

OP doesn’t say if the new player is a forward or defenseman, but that would suck for any of the current players knowing someone isn’t going to be with the team beyond December.

Of course, players get hurt and this could be a non problem if several players are out with extended injuries.

I personally would address the situation now, before the season starts.

How are things with the other 2 Black Bear Academy teams? Did they fall through as well? Nothing would satisfy me more if all the BB Academy teams folded!

I did not see this coming! No way! It looked to be like such a great program with a great staff! This cannot be true! Well there's always Flyers Elite 18u.... Oh wait, there is not that either. What is happening over there?! Such a great staff it doesn't add up that not only did they Kill Flyers Elite, but BB Academy dies before the puck even dropped.

Pennsauken has 15uAcademy team. I thought 18u was playing out of Rev? But is 15u team dead too?

15U team at Pennsauken had 13 slots announce. Not sure how many more players they signed since. 16U had 14 slots announced so same there. I know they are looking for billet families, so I think both teams are set. Having a new 18U Academy team is tough since the best players at this age are already gone to juniors or prep schools. FE 18U team folded because best 16U kids are gone to prep, lost Schultz as coach so they all moved on.
