How will DVHL respond
Topic: February 12, 2026, 01:02:17 PM
Is DVHL in talks to merge with other leagues? Seems like they need to do something in response to Genesis and Wild departing.

Good question.  Dvhl is pretty much dead. Unfortunately the teams still in it I do not think they can afford to join the big bad AHF.  It a shame but those kids may want to start looking else where.

What are these goofball comments. Kids just want to play at nearby rinks. They still have plenty of teams and will be fine working with EJs and NJYHL as needed

I find it strange people get excited when team’s move around and feel the need to claim a league is dead

Enjoy your AA teams - you all end up at same place the DVHL kids end up at lol

I have heard chatter that more people will leave dvhl teams this year again to play more competitive hockey in other leagues. Dvhl is great for the families that want less travel and games.  Good luck to the dvhl and AHF families I hope all your teams lead you to the show.

This is a nonsense take.  No one thinks the AHF is getting you to the show, D1, USHL, etc.  But at the same time, if you want to spend 2-3 years of your highschool career playing awful JV hockey or on the bottom line of varsity, stick with the DVHL.  Development and level of competition matters.

The DVHL is fine.  It sucks losing two quality organizations.

The DVHL has plenty of options.  Right now it has an "American" and "National" division at almost every level. That can be merged.  Maybe not ideal, but AHF has its own competitive balance issues.

Or they can supplement with the EJEPL.  Like every body else did in the past before the AHF sucked up all those games.

Or they can play in multiple tournaments. Like every body else did in the past before the AHF made you play in Defender.

Lots of ways to get to 40 games.

Or they can merge with the NJ teams.

The DVHL has the best rinks hands down.

Let the dvhl fizzle out.  It is all good people plenty of places to play hockey with great development.  Dvhl is behind times as well and I certainly would question best rinks.  But to each their own.

Looks like the EJEPL supplement is happening with a few DVHL clubs for next year.

Not a bad idea.....

I'd put Steel Ice in Lehigh above all the rinks in DVHL, AHF and most rinks we've been to for tournaments.
